Adventure to Fitness Announces Partnership with the Atlanta Hawks: Commitment to Children’s Health in Georgia


Adventure to Fitness is excited to announce its partnership with the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club. The Atlanta Hawks are a professional basketball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Hawks have a rich history in the National Basketball Association (NBA) that includes many star players such as Pete Maravich, Dominque Wilkins, and Dikembe Mutombo. Led by principal Owner, Tony Ressler and Vice Chair of the Board Grant Hill, the Hawks have also made a strong commitment to positively impacting the local community, where they team aims to build bridges through basketball.

In particular, they have committed to significant efforts to programs for children. We’re excited to team up with them and have their support towards kids’ health and fitness in Atlanta and through the rest of the state.”

The partnership will utilize Adventure to Fitness’ program and large network of active kids throughout Georgia as part of a sweepstakes for elementary classrooms and schools to win exciting prizes such as in-school NBA FIT Clinics led by Hawks staff; Jr. Hawks summer camp scholarships for students; Hawks-branded basketballs and t-shirts; and in-person and Virtual Visits from the star of Adventure to Fitness, Mr. Marc. Mr. Marc will be making a surprise appearance at one of the school’s chosen for the NBA FIT Clinic and will be challenging the Hawks staff, teachers and students to a Mega Mode World Record Event. 

Adventure to Fitness and the Atlanta Hawks are seeking to promote healthy, active lifestyles as well as the importance of play for children.

The sweepstakes begins March 19th through April 30th, 2018, and entrants will have a chance to win over $30,000 worth in prizes.

Holiday Fitness Survival Guide

Wow! It’s already December 1st! We here at Adventure to Fitness can’t believe Winter Break is almost upon us!  We hope that you’ve all been enjoying a great school year so far and are ready for the holidays.

Like most, we are looking forward to a small break as well. But, we know that getting out of routine has it’s pitfalls – like poor eating habits and less physical activity meaning feeling lousy and putting on special “holiday” weight.

Below is a list of 5 essential tips to help you survive the holidays and stay healthy:

  1. Drink more water – Water helps you feel fuller so you won’t have to reach for that extra slice of pie or plate full of cookies.
  2. Try waiting 20 minutes after snacking on appetizers before hitting the main course.
  3. Get a quick workout in at home before heading out for holiday shopping – or make a point to take your workout clothes with you on the road.
  4. Get the family together for a high-energy activity like sledding or hiking.
  5. Stock up on healthy snacks – keep bows of snacks like raw or dry roasted almonds or dried fruits around to help curb cravings for holiday treats.

We all know that it takes a little extra planning and effort to stay healthy during the holidays, but the end result will be worth it. We have faith in you and you should, too!
